A refreshing new take on 1920’s enamelled signage font originally made in Czechoslovakia
The Patro typeface is a reconstruction of old inscriptional scripts from the 1930s. The idea began as a small typographic exercise after I managed to find several examples of an unknown script, primarily used on enamel signs in pre-war Czechosloavakia. After a while of searching through digitized fonts, I concluded that I would attempt to digitize it and largely design it myself. The typeface was completely redrawn and designed based on the only known letters: P, a, t, r, o.
